| DUEMILAVINI - GUIDE BOOK OF ITALIAN WINES 2009 - AIS (ITALIAN SOMMELIERS ASSOCIATION) |
 |
The Association of Italian Sommeliers has introduced a new guide focused entirely on wine and wine producers.
It includes of course Villa Spinosa's winery starting with reporting its “big future project” i.e. Palajago (new cellars and drying up rooms beside the original ones) and its “melting pot” of wine, literature and photography which the several happenings during the year give evidence of. Among them the picture award within “Cantine Aperte” and the literary meetings like “Premio Salgari (Salgari award) 2008”.
It's very important to say that Amarone Valpolicella Classico “Guglielmi di Jago” 1998 has been very appreciated being “...perfectly in time and present with bouquet, especially marmelade, and unexpectedly fresh”. |

Special mention for Amarone Valpolicella Classico 2001, judged as the best wine and described apart from the rest of wines mentioned.
In its general consideration it says that “...Villa Spinosa is back with each wine of range clearly improved. So "Amarone Classico Guglielmi di Jago 1998" results to be full in the mouth and still sweet considering the year of production. Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso “Jago” 2005 on his side comes out with balanced spicies, while Amarone Valpolicella Classico 2001 is the most outstanding leaving in the mouth a royal track of rape marasca cherry...good”. |
