The winery, housed in renovated farmhouses, is located in Jago close to the village of Negrar at the foot of the Masua hill. The Jago vineyards are located directly adjacent to the winery whilst other vineyards can be found on the opposite slopes of the hills at Figari, part of the village of Marano di Valpolicella.

The steepness and direction of the slopes, microclimate, soil composition and elevation (215 - 305m) all make this area ideal for the cultivation of grapes, olives and cherries and thus one of the best areas for wine-making in the Valpolicella Classico designation of origin.

Since 1990, the guyot pruning system, one which is used in the most prestigious wine producing areas in the world, has gradually replaced the traditional “pergola veronese” system in the Villa Spinosa vineyards.

In recent years, Villa Spinosa has also started planting vines on higher plots of land. One of those is the vineyard located at Costa del Busa, at an elevation of 423m, close to the village of Negrar.

Villa Spinosa transforms grapes, all grown on in its own vineyards, to make the full range of Valpolicella Classico wines (Classico, Superiore, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto).

In 2005 the winery opened its wine tourism activities offering visitors the possibility of staying in the self-catering accommodation housed in the renovated farmhouses and taking part in guided visits of the winery as well as wine tastings. Villa Spinosa also organises cooking lessons with an emphasis on local dishes, technical courses on wine-production techniques and wine-tasting courses.

Care for the environment, countryside and culture are values which have always inspired Villa Spinosa throughout its development. These are also the reasons why Villa Spinosa created the Associazione Culturale Francesca Finato Spinosa which promotes the history and culture of the Valpolicella as well as its wines through cultural events.
